As
real estate practitioners have “specialized” over
recent decades in order to adapt to ever-increasing competition
and complexity for transactional business, it has become correspondingly
difficult for clients with “outside the box” requirements
to find broad-based, multi-disciplined real estate advice
and support.
WHY
… ? The
larger real estate firms are at least “capable”
of cross-disciplinary service because their staffing levels
support a broad range of specialties. However, traditional
real estate firms are typically structured in anticipation
of a resulting “transaction” and a paid commission,
and their approach to “broad-based” problem solving
can be unwieldy and disjointed. Large professional consulting
firms are considerably more skilled in the “team approach”,
but they are invariably quite expensive … generally
affordable only to wealthier individuals, larger corporations
… or those in unfortunate serious difficulty.
